Comprehensive Study of the Casa Palacio de los Torrero with Sustainability Criteria

Built4Life Lab and the Official Association of Architects of Aragón (COAA) are collaborating on the comprehensive study of the Casa-Palacio de los Torrero, a Renaissance building listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural and home to the COAA headquarters in Zaragoza.

The project combines heritage, architectural and construction analysis with energy and environmental assessment. The work includes documentary research and digital surveying, in-situ characterization of the building envelope, thermography, airtightness and thermal transmittance testing, indoor environmental monitoring, energy modelling and analysis of energy consumption.

The ultimate aim is to develop data-driven renovation strategies that improve energy performance, comfort and indoor environmental quality while respecting the building’s heritage values and incorporating a life-cycle perspective.
