Dr. Almudena Espinosa-Fernandez is Associate Professor (tenure-track) of Architectural Construction at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and researcher at the Built4Life Lab.

She graduated as an Architect from the University of Alicante (Spain) in 2007, where she also earned her PhD in Architecture, City, Civil Engineering and Construction in 2015. Alongside her doctoral studies, she combined academic research with professional practice in architecture, gaining experience in design, construction, and building refurbishment.

She worked as researcher for the University of Alicante between 2011 and 2013, and she has held academic positions at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) since 2016.

Research focus: Her work concentrates on building renovation, energy efficiency, and industrialized construction, with an emphasis on circularity and technological innovation to improve the sustainability and adaptability of the existing building stock.
