Marta Gómez Gil

Dr. Marta Gómez Gil is Assistant Professor of Architectural Construction at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and a collaborating researcher at the Built4Life Lab.
She holds a BSc and MSc in Architecture from the University of Zaragoza (2015 and 2017). After completing her master’s degree, she worked as an architect in Portugal before returning to Spain to begin her doctoral studies in 2021. She is currently pursuing an inter-university Master’s degree in Circular Economy.
During her doctoral studies, she undertook research stays at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and the University of Coimbra (Portugal).
She has also completed two teaching mobilities at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto (Portugal), and the Faculty of Architecture, Sapienza University of Rome (Italy).
Research focus: Her research explores the decarbonisation of the built environment through building renovation, addressing this challenge from multiple perspectives: the digitalisation of the construction sector, the integration of bioeconomy and circular economy principles, and the use of performance indicators to monitor progress towards low-carbon goals.
