Adriana Marín Martínez

She graduated in Architecture from the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), in 2011. In 2017, she completed a Master’s Degree in Secondary and Upper Secondary Education Teaching at the University of Zaragoza, and in 2018 she obtained the Certified Passive House Designer qualification awarded by the Passive House Institute (PHI). Her academic background has been complemented by continuous specialised training in building construction and architectural design. Since the 2020–2021 academic year, she has been pursuing doctoral studies within the New Territories in Architecture Programme at the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Zaragoza.

She served as Secretary of the Governing Board of the Official Association of Architects of Aragón (COAA) from May 2019 to May 2023. Since 2018, she has been a partner in an architecture practice, working on projects in urban regeneration, residential building refurbishment and new-build architecture. Since the 2021–2022 academic year, she has also been an Adjunct Professor in Architectural Construction at the University of Zaragoza.

Her doctoral thesis, entitled 'Habitat. On the Built Environment and Human Development', explores the relationship between the physical environment and the human organism. Her current research interests focus on emerging fields such as neuroarchitecture, in dialogue with established areas including environmental psychology and biophilic design. Her research also addresses methodologies for architectural design, with particular attention to Evidence-Based Design (EBD) as a framework for supporting design decisions aimed at enhancing wellbeing, spatial quality and human experience in the built environment.
