Irene X. Portero Truchado

Irene X. Portero Truchado is PhD candidate under a predoctoral fellowship at the Built4Life Lab, University of Zaragoza (Spain). Her fellowship is funded by the General Deputation of Aragon (DGA, 2024–2028).
She holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Comprehensive Design and Image Management, and in Fashion Design and Management from Rey Juan Carlos University (2023), as well as a Master’s degree in Theory and Criticism of Culture from Carlos III University of Madrid (2024). Her Bachelor’s Thesis in Comprehensive Design received the Gloria Fuertes I–URJC Prize in the Diversity category (2023).
She is conducting her doctoral research at the University of Zaragoza within the Doctoral Program in Gender Relations and Feminist Studies, and has been Adjunct Professor at Rey Juan Carlos University (Spain) during the 2023–2024 academic year.
Research focus: Her research explores how gender perspectives can inform and transform architectural design practices, fostering more inclusive and equitable spatial approaches.
