Sofía Palacios Jerves is PhD candidate under a predoctoral fellowship at the Built4Life Lab, University of Zaragoza (Spain).

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Universidad del Azuay (Ecuador) and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain).

She has collaborated on urban planning and gender-focused research projects with UN Women, Ghent University (Belgium), Universidad de Cuenca (Ecuador), and Universidad del Azuay (Ecuador). She has also participated in tactical urbanism initiatives with the collective LlactaLab and has worked as a teaching assistant at the School of Architecture and Design, Universidad del Azuay (Ecuador).

Research focus: Her research examines feminist urbanism, public space, and gendered spatial experiences, with particular attention to the perceptions and experiences of women and girls in urban contexts across Latin America.
